If there has never been a detection
- Check the account and label. Open the intended account and match the physical label ID to the tracker you are viewing.
- Check activation. An unused label has not started its tracking period. Follow the activation prompts, including peeling the backing and confirming activation.
- Allow for a network detection. A nearby Hubble terrestrial receiver needs to hear the Bluetooth signal. Activation does not itself create a location.
There is no guaranteed wait time for the first detection. A phone used to open Shipzik does not automatically become a Hubble receiver just because you have the page open.
If updates stopped after earlier detections
Read the timestamp on the latest location. It tells you when the item was last detected, rather than where it necessarily is now. Check whether the label’s tracking period is still active.
Consider what changed: the item may be inside a vehicle, surrounded by dense cargo, next to metal, or in an area without a nearby participating receiver. A quiet period can occur while an item is moving or while it is stationary.
Use carrier tracking and information from the sender or recipient as additional evidence. A detection gap alone cannot establish loss, theft, delivery, or a hardware failure.
What can I check while I still have the item?
Inspect the label for visible damage and confirm it is attached as intended. If appropriate, compare its position with a less obstructed location. Do not judge performance solely from a short desk test; test the package and route you will actually use.
Review placement considerations for cartons and equipment cases. Refreshing the page checks for available information; it does not make a receiver detect the label.
Can an alert help?
A “not detected” alert can notify your chosen recipients after a detection gap. It reports the lack of a recent detection, not the reason for it. Shipzik can also notify you when detections resume after a gap.
Choose a gap threshold that fits your workflow. Frequent alerts are not a substitute for network coverage. See how detection-gap and place alerts work.
What should I send to support?
If the label still behaves unexpectedly, contact orders@shipzik.com with the label ID, approximate activation time, last detection time, and a short description of the packaging and issue. Share private details directly with support, rather than in a public tracking link.
For a job that requires scheduled updates or confirmed delivery, evaluate a service that explicitly meets those needs. Compare Bluetooth and GPS-based tracking.
